PQSR is a pcr product of Pseudomonas aeruginosa ATCC 27853. The rest is provided by iGEM official biobrick.
This is a sub-part of quorum sensing molecule biosensor 2-heptyl-3-hydroxy-4(1H)-quinolone sensed by PQS receptor. The constitutive promoter expresses PQS receptor, and in the final construct, if the PQS receptor(PQSR) binds with 2-heptyl-3-hydroxy-4(1H)-quinolone, it will be able to regulate its promoter sequence resulting in expression of reporter mCherry.

Varies from -6 to +1 region from original sequence to accomodate BioBricks suffix ("orig" in figure 4-14 of Ron Weiss thesis).
No secondary structures are formed in the given RBS region. Users should check for secondary structures induced in the RBS by upstream and downstream elements in the +50 to -50 region, as such structures will greatly affect the strength of the RBS.

Suggested by Sri Kosuri and Drew Endy as a high efficiency terminator. The 5' end cutoff was placed immediately after the TAA stop codon and the 3' end cutoff was placed just prior to the RBS of Gene 1.4 (before AAGGAG).
Use anywhere transcription should be stopped when the gene of interest is upstream of this terminator.

It comes from Pseudomonas ATCC 27853 genome, functioning as one of the quorum sensing systems in the bacterium.
PQSR is a quorum sensing receptor which is similar to the LuxI-LuxR system. It is found in Pseudomonas and uses 2-heptyl-3-hydroxy-4-quinolone as quorum sensing molecule. We use it as one of our quorum sensing receptors and hope to function as a biosensor.
