IPTG-Repressible RFP Generator

pLsrA and LsrR were synthesized by IDT using sequence data provided by EcoGene and converted into RDP format following Synbiota's RDP part creation protocol. All other parts were provided inside Synbiota's RDP assembly kit.
Device was designed and assembled using Synbiota's GENtle software and Rapid DNA Prototyping (RDP) system. The device consists of two parts, separated by a terminator.
Part 1: LsrR open reading frame, under the control of the Lac promoter and a medium RBS.
Part 2: RFP under the control of pLsrA and a medium RBS.
When cultured in a LacI- strain or in the presence of IPTG, LsrR is produced, repressing pLsrA and preventing expression of RFP.
