The tpaR gene encodes the terephthalic acid (TPA) positive feedback regulatory protein. This protein can bind the TPA inducible leader sequence (TILS) at the existence of TPA and induce the expression of downstream gene. The tpaR protein belongs to the IclR protein family and has helix-turn-helix domain.
