It comes from a deletion of part of the gene Cch1 in Saccharomyces cerevisiae.
The Cch1 mutant has a deletion in that gene that produces calcium channels damaged. This kind of strain is very useful as a negative control and make us sure that our luminiscence at wt strains is not an artifact.
