Photinus pyralis luciferase mutated for increased bioluminescence.

DNA was synthesised to have the same amino acids as the wild type except for the three mutations.
Mutations Ile423Leu Asp436Gly and Leu530Arg increase the bioluminescence intensity by a factor of 12.5 according to Fujii et al. (2007). It is codon optimised for expression in E. coli.
