Description
This is the gene for perforin. It inserts itself in to a cell's plasma membrane and causes lysis for a wide variety of cell types. It might only work if granzyme is also present.
The protein is 555 amino acids long.
The gene contains 3 exons.
After *extensive* searching, there appears to be disagreement on the ORF length. Several sources cite a transcript of length ~4 kbp, but ORF Finder gives nothing longer than ~1.2 kbp.
