Description
This is the tryptophan-Promoter, repressible by the tryptophan-Repressor (BBa_J119124) when tryptophan is in high enough concentration.
Designed to be part of a selection module for optimization of the tryptophan operon, its intended function is to promote a gene that will have a negative effect unless repressed by producing more tryptophan.
Notes
Part was created using only primers, though is a sequence-identical bio-bricked part of the source. Including the biobrick ends, part is 91bp long.
Source
Created using primers alone, though copied from a sequence that exists in E. coli.
