Description

Coding sequence for PARP1 (poly[ADP-ribose] polymerase 1) which is instrumental in detecting damaged DNA, directly binding to it and catalyzing its repair. During apoptosis, PARP1 is typically cleaved, inhibiting its function. The sequence was originally obtained from NCBI (accession # NM_001618.3). This sequence was modified to remove internal restriction sites by changing the third base of the codons at these sites.

Notes

Two internal restriction enzyme recognition sites were found in the sequence. To prevent cleavage by restriction enzymes, the third base of the codons at these sites were changed.
