Description
ADAM17, also known as tumor necrosis factor ∂ converting enzyme (TACE) is activated by several tyrosine kinase receptors, and is known to be over expressed in cancerous cells. It is an integral transmembrane metalloprotease that produces TNF-∂ and participates in ectodomain shedding of other transmembrane proteins. This part has to be linked with promoter in order to be expressed in yeast.
