    This is the coding sequence of crtE, which encodes geranylgeranyl pyrophosphate synthase, an enzyme that converts farnesyl pyrophosphate (FPP) to geranylgeranyl pyrophosphate synthase (GGPP) as part of the carotenoid biosynthetic pathway.

    Notes

    The CDS did not exist as a basic part without the upstream RBS, so it was extracted and transferred to pSB1C3 for purposes not requiring a bacterial RBS.
