Sequences BBa_K1075001_sequence (Version 1)

Description

This part compromises the repressor of the Arabinose operon AraC and the Arabinose inducable promoter pBAD.
When AraC is present the promoter pBAD is repressed. Upon induction with Arabinose AraC acts as an activator for the promoter leading to transcription of the downstream gene.

There is no RBS included after the promoter.

It is derived from the expression plasmid pBAD compromising the whole part matching the genomic sequence of this area. Compared to BBa_K808000 there is an additional upstream part of 90bp included.

Upon induction with Arabinose expression of

Notes

the part was designed based on a sequence alignment of the expression plasmid pBAD with E. coli genomic sequence. Only the part matching the E. coli genome was amplified using specific primers.
