    Description

    This mlsR gene was chosen as an additional selection marker for transformation of Gram positive chassis organisms. In the intended chassis organism of Clostridium acetobutylicum, the concentrations for selectivity were known, making this a convenient choice.

    The cloning of this part was relatively straight-forward. No special design considerations were required.
