Description
This is an ancestrally predicted version of the HisC gene, which is involved in amino acid synthesis. HisC is responsible for synthesizing histidine. This ancestral version was predicted using the representative data from Pfam (PF00155) and PAML with the Lazarus suite.
Notes
Design considerations included making sure to use representative data from Pfam, evaluating any insertions, deletions, or gaps when compared to the starting E coli (K12) sequence, and determining whether these should be kept in the sequence or removed.
Source
This version of HisC is a predicted ancestral sequence. It comes from a prediction made using Pfam seed data (PF00155) as an input for PAML with Lazarus, which is used to predict sequences of a common ancestor.
