Description
Diguanylate cyclases produce cyclic diGMP (c-di-GMP), a secondary messenger. Diguanylate Cyclase (DgcZ), also called YdeH, is present in Escherichia coli and the stimulus that controls it is Zinc.
Notes
The sequence did not have any restriction sites to remove so it was immediately PCRed out of the genome and had the registry prefix and suffix added to it. It was then ligated into the pSB1C3 vector. YdeH however, is toxic to E. coli cells.
Source
The source of this part is Escherichia coli MC40100 genomic DNA which was provided by the Tracy Palmer lab in the Molecular Microbiology department of the University of Dundee, UK.
