Description
CcdB is a bacterial toxin that inhibits the DNA gyrase, inducing DNA double strand breaks and possibily cell death. CcdB comes from the CcdBA operon where it its transcribed alongside CcdA, an antoxin that inhibits CcdB toxicity, allowing cells to survive
Notes
Should only work in bacteria (verified in E. coli). Expression is toxic to cells, assemble using an inducible promoter or express alongside CcdA
Source
Fertility factor from E. coli (F plasmid), CcdBA operon.
