Description
NisB dehydrates the serines and threonines of the nisin precursor peptide made by NisA. Together with the genes NisA, NisT, NisC, NisP, NisR and NisK it is responsible for producing the lantibiotic nisin in Lactococcus lactis.
Notes
Used primers:
forward - 5'-GTTTCTTCGAATTCGCGGCCGCTTCTAGATGATAAAAAGTTCATTTAA-3'
reverse - 5'-GTTTCTTCCTGCAGCGGCCGCTACTAGTATTATCATTTCATGTATTCTT-3'
to PCR NisB from the genome and add the BioBrick prefix and suffix.
Source
Obtained by PCR on the genome of Lactococcus lactis NZ9700, a nisin producing strain.
