Description
BACE1 miscleaves amyloid precursor protein (APP) at the beta-site. Subsequent cleavage of APP by gamma-secretase results in liberation of the cleaved fragment called beta-amyloid, one of the hallmark molecules in Alzheimer's pathology. This vector contains the gene for BACE1 under constitutive regulation by the Hef1a promoter. We utilized this vector in our experiment to test the effectiveness of our four miRNA-generating vectors at down-regulating BACE1 expression.
