Sequences BBa_K1526000_sequence (Version 1)

Description

The phytochelatin synthase in S. pombe uses glutathione with a blocked thiol group in the synthesis of phytochelatin. Overexpression of this gene, together with Gsh1* (BBa_K1526001), in E.coli has been shown to increase phytochelatin production and lead to a 7.5-times-higher Cd accumulation (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2075016/).

Notes

Codon optimized sequence for E.coli of the S.pombe phytochelatin synthase gene
