Sequences BBa_K1530001_sequence (Version 1)

Description

This part confers the ability to adhere to fibronectin, a glycoprotein of the extracellular matrix.

Unlike the Staphylococcus aureus variant, this part does not induce internalisation of the protein into the cells, making it a safe cell adhering mechanism

Notes

Attached a BamH1 restriction site for ease of attachment to other parts.
The Lactobacillus acidophilus variant of the protein was used as the Staphylococcus aureus variant has been shown to induce internalisation internalisation of the protein : http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19482952.
