Description
SR/pSB1C3 is carrying the SR gene encoding Homo sapiens SRSF1 (NCBI GI:5902076). Serine/arginine-rich splicing factor 1 (SRSF1) belonged to SR protein family is involved in pre-mRNA splicing and RNA metabolism. SRSF1 is also known as ASF/SF2 and has a conserved RS domain rich in serine and arginine residues. Its activity is regulated by phosphorylation which is post-translationally modified by SRPK1 kinase. Because phosphoserine and arginine play roles in fire resistance, we used the feature of SR proteins as fire retardant bio-materials.
Notes
No EcoRI, XbaI, SpeI, PstI sites on the gene. It is easy to be a standard BioBrick part.
Source
The gene source is cloned from cDNA of Homo sapiens.
