Sequences BBa_K1622000_sequence (Version 1)

Description

Our part is the combination of two genes coding for enzymes that belong to the degradation pathway of Ethylene Glycol:
- the Glycoaldehyde Reductase (BBa_K936023): this enzyme catalyzes the transformation of Ethylene Glycol into Glycoaldehyde.
- the Glycoaldehyde Dehydrogenase (BBa_K936011): this enzyme catalyzes the reaction from Glycoaldehyde to Glycolate.

We used it as one of our clusters in the PET degradation operon.

Notes

We designed our BioBrick using the sequences provided by the Registry of Standard Biological Parts and optimized these sequences for E.coli.

Source

This part is the result of the Gibson Assembly of BBa_K936011 and BBa_K936023. We used the sequence provided in the iGEM registry of standard parts, optimized them for E.coli. We ordered the parts to be synthesized.
