Description
This is a Cre-like recombinase of Tyr-family with properties similar to those of Cre, but with a different recognized sequence Rox (or its proper derivatives), which do not cross-interfering with Cre-LoxP system. Dre is one of the most widely used Cre-like recombinase.
Scre has the invertase activity that invert the the sequence between two anti-parallel Roxs. Dre is a integrase used by P1-like coliphage, yet this coding sequence is not the wild type sequence but redesigned into E. coli-and-yeast coding preference according to its AA sequence.
Notes
This sequence is both E. coli and S. cerevisiae, but neither is perfectly fitted.
