Sequences BBa_K1650011_sequence (Version 1)

Description

This plasmid encodes a sRNA with 24 bp which is complementary to a sequence in the mRNA of MinC thus, leading to a prevention of its biosynthesis. Since the Min-system regulates symmetric cell division, this sRNA stimulates the formation of minicells which do not contain chromosomal DNA and therefore, are not able to propagate making them a chassis with a low risk in biosafety. The plasmid contains additionally a high-copy origin of replication and a cassette for the resistance against Chloramphenicol.

Notes

Sequence verification before usage to ensure correct sequence in order to use advanced cloning techniques.
