Description
RecA is a protein that can carry out recombination reactions in E.coli. For example, if you want to disrupt a certain gene's function, you can design a linear DNA fragment with sequences that are homologous to the target gene on both ends. When RecA and the DNA fragment are introduced into E.coli together, homologous recombination takes place.
