Description
This part can be used to knock out the native Acetyl-CoA Synthase (acs) gene of Synechocystis PCC. 6803 via homologous recombination, which induces growth-coupled acetate production.
Notes
It is based on the markerless knock-out procedure detailed in "A Novel Counter-Selection Method for Markerless Genetic Modification in Synechocystis sp. pcc 6803" and may be used in conjunction with biobrick (add link) to create a markerless knock-out.
Source
This part consists of the homologous up- and downstream regions of the acs gene.
