Description
PIF3 is a transcription factor interacting with photoreceptor PhyB when exposed to red light. Acting as a negative regulator of phyB signaling, it degrades rapidly after irradiation of dark grown seedings in a process controlled by phytochromes.
Notes
PIF3 functions as a transcriptional activator, and can be functionally and mechanistically separated from its role in repression of PhyB mediated processes.
