Description
Gas vesicle gene identified in Bacillus megaterium, and forms part of the gvp cluster for gas vesicle formation. GvpA is considered to be non-essential for obtaining the phenotype associated with gas vesicle formation in E. coli. The gene was removed from the cluster by Melbourne 2007 team before submitting the cluster as a biobrick construct.
