Description

This part contains xylA and xylM from Pseudomonas putida under the control of a lac promoter. xylA and xylM are subunits of P. putida xylene monooxygenase (XO). XO converts a CH3 group of toluene and its derivatives into CH2OH. This is a basic part that is used in BBa_K1966002 with xylM (benzyl alcohol dehydrogenase, BADH) to generate aromatic aldehydes from toluene derivatives.

Notes

xylA and xlyM were built together from synthesized DNA via Gibson assembly

Source

Pseudomonas putida (TOL pathway, upper operon)
