Description
Pcpc560 stands for the 560bp region found upstream of the cpcB gene encoding the beta subunit of c-phycocyanin in Synechocystis. This region has been reported to act as a promoter that is able of producing heterologous proteins at a level up to 15% of total soluble protein in Synechocystis, which is comparable to levels achieved in E. coli (Zhou et al., 2014). In light of this, this genomic region has been termed as the Pcpc560 ???super-strong??? promoter.

Notes
Nucleotide X at position X was mutated to a X in order to remove a BsaI site, which would have interfered with later assemblies.

The part was ordered as gblock through IDT and was subsequently cloned into PhytoBricks Universal Acceptor plasmids (BBa_P10500).
