    URA3 is maker gene of yeast. Even if yeast does not have ura3 which is essential for the synthesis of uracil, the yeast which has a vector with URA3 can grow and make colonies in no uracil medium. So, you can select the transformed yeast.

    The vector witch is inserted this parts is a vector for cloning DNA by yeast.
