    This gene is the key gene for accumulation of PHA in P.putida KT2440. This geneacoA in the P. putidaKT2440 wild type leads to an increasing of PHA production. In controlled bioreactor batch fermentations PHA productionwas increased by 33% in the acoA-overexpressing type,compared with wild type.
