Description

Gene luxB encoding subunit B of the bacterial luciferase LuxAB of _Photobacterium phosphoreum_ ATCC 11060. This is a particularly bright organism and we hope that its luciferase will be much bright than the bacterial luciferase of _Photorhabdus luminescens_ which is already in the Registry.

Notes

No special considerations. Be aware that luminescence requires both LuxA and LuxB. If LuxC, LuxD and LuxE are also supplied, the organism can generate its own substrate, but otherwise, a long chain aldehyde such as n-decanal must be added. Addition of flavin reduction LuxG may or may not increase brightness.
