Sequences BBa_K2182000_sequence (Version 1)

Description

This part codes for an enzyme which oxidizes NADPH by transferring Hydrogen from NADPH to oxygen (O2) molecules. In the context of our project it was used as an oxygen scavenger to consume dissolved oxygen.

Notes

The sequence for the wild type protein contains an internal PSTI cut site which had to be removed in order to adhere to submission standards. This was achieved by replacing a guanine-cytosine base pair with an adenine-thymine base pair.

Source

This enzyme was discovered in the genome of S. sanguinis. Sequence is reported in Xu et al. Genome of the Opportunistic Pathogen Streptococcus sanguinis. J. Bacteriol. April 2007 vol. 189 no. 8 3166-3175.
