Description
The puc promoter is the primary promoter for the puc operon. The puc operon consists of puc A and B coding regions responsible for the LH II antenna complex essential for light harvesting in Rhodobacter sphaeroides. The puc promoter is ultimately controlled by oxygen tension, and is a very strong promoter under low oxygen concentration.
