Description
prtF, codes for a polypeptide of
462 amino acid residues (predicted Mr = 52.5 kd) that is
probably initiated at an ATG codon located 15 bp downstream
from the prtE gene stop codon TAA. It is preceded
11 bp upstream by a GGAAGG RBS consensus sequence.the PrtF protein
is hydrophilic and analysis of the deduced amino acid
sequence revealed the presence at its N-terminal end of a
typical procaryotic signal peptide (italics in Figure 2) which
contains three positively charged residues followed by a
stretch of hydrophobic or neutral residues and ending at a
consensus bacterial signal peptide cleavage site, Ala Gln Ala or Ala Met Gly.
Notes
The gene actually will be fully function with other two genes which are PrtD and PrtE.
