Description
This sequence is the wild type TetA gene which has been optimized from base pairs 1 to 141. This is a basic part that can be placed behind a promoter and produce the Tetracycline resistance protein. Being that this gene is optimized, we are hypothesizing that it will allow for greater translational efficiency as compared to the wild type TetA (no data is available at this time to support or reject this hypothesis).
Notes
During the design of this sequence, it was necessary to ensure that the optimized sequence did not contain BioBrick restriction sites and that the translational sequence was identical to that of the wild type gene.
Source
This TetA gene has been optimized from base pairs 1 to 141 using the online Optimizer program (http://genomes.urv.es/OPTIMIZER/)and was constructed using customized Oligo segments that were annealed and ligated into a pSB1A2 vector.
