Sequences BBa_K315042_sequence (Version 1)

Description

This sequence contains the wild type TetA gene which has been deoptimized from base pairs 1 to 290. This composite part has the construct of pLac-RBS-RFP-RBS-TetA (deoptimized from bp 1-290) and therefore has the ability to produce the Tetracycline resistance protein. Being that this gene is optimized, we are hypothesizing that it will allow for greater translational efficiency as compared to the wild type TetA (no data is available at this time to support or reject this hypothesis).

Notes

This TetA gene has been optimized from base pairs 1 to 290 using the online Optimizer program (http://genomes.urv.es/OPTIMIZER/) and was synthesized using customized Oligo segments that were annealed and ligated into a pSB1A2 vector.
