Description
lux CDE codes for a fatty acid reductase complex that makes the fatty acids, which is necessary for the luciferase mechanism. Among them, LuxC codes for the enzyme acyl-reductase and lux D codes for acyl-transferase, and lux E makes the proteins needed for the enzyme acyl-protein synthetase.
Notes
Notes: needed one XbaI site in luxD removed. Forward sequence is as expected. Reverse sequence does not end with TAATAA of luxE, but rather has some extra DNA, as shown, as for some reason the reverse primer was designed further downstream. The reverse sequence for clone 3 failed on this date but was repeated on 17 Sep, and read the same.
Source
Source: artificial operon assembled from luxCD and luxE of Xenorhabdus (Photorhabdus) luminescens Hb.
