Description

2-ketobutyrate formate-lyase/pyruvate formate-lyase 4.

It catalyzes the reversible conversion of pyruvate and coenzyme-A into formate and acetyl-CoA; the formate can then be used for Hydrogen production. It is activated under anaerobic conditions, we wanted to constitutively express it in order to improve the formate production.
