Reporter

Sequences BBa_K354002_sequence (Version 1)

Description

Derived from Aequorea victoria, the green fluorescent protein (GFP) has been modified so as to yield an array of fluorescent reporters. One such fluorophore, Venus, is a modification of the yellow fluorescent protein (YFP). Venus is excited at 515nm and has an emission peak at 528nm.

Notes

The sequence had to be codon optimised and a ribosome binding site was added to the 5' end so as to ensure translation.

Source

Venus's sequence was derived from Genbank and was codon optimised so as to yield optimal expression in Lactobacillus gasseri.
