Description
This gene codes for the Mid1 protein from Saccharomyces cerevisiae. It codes for a high affinity voltage gated calcium channel. In vivo, this channel responds to mating pheromones, hypertonic stress, various forms of ER stress (such as accumulation of misfolded proteins), amiodarone treatment, high pH, high iron, and externally applied electric fields.
Notes
None. This sequence is a canonical yeast gene, as it exists in various published forms. It has not been artificially codon-optimized for yeast, nor has it been checked for restriction enzyme sites.
Source
This gene is located on the eighth chromosome of the baker's yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae.
