Description

This is a calcium-permiable stretch and voltage activated calcium channel present in both the ER and plasma membrane of the baker's yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae. This channel is activated by external voltage or stretch. It is known to interact with the gene Mid1 BB 008 HERE.

This gene, complete with sequence, is the wild-type version of the gene, BB ID, submitted by Team Valencia without a sequence.

Notes

This gene is a canonical gene from the S. cerevisiae genome, except that it has had the restriction sites for EcoRI, SpeI, XbaI, and BgIII removed. It has been otherwise codon optimized for yeast.
