Description
The flu operon in E. coli codes for the Antigen 43 complex (Ag43). This is a self-inserting, self-dimerizing surface membrane protein, which is involved in autoaggregation, adhesiveness, and biofilm formation in E. coli. It has also been shown to be fully functional in P. fluorescens.
