    Description

    The Deinococcus radiodurans bacteriophytochrome is 373bp long. The bacteriophytochrome binds to biliverdin, a chromophore. Biliverdin is produced in the heme metabolic pathway using the heme oxygenase enzyme.

    Notes

    The D. radiodurans bacteriophytochrome includes an internal EcoR1 site which creates a problem for Biobrick construction and submission as a DNA part following standard submission protocol.
