Description
The Agrobacterium tumefaciens bacteriophytochrome binds to biliverdin, a chromophore. Biliverdin is produced in the heme metabolic pathway catalysed by heme oxygenase. Once bound to the chromophore the complex can absorb red and far red light causing the complex to change colour from blue to green reversibly. A ribosome binding site has been added upstream. Unlike BBa_K497004 this part does not include the 3' transcriptional terminator.
Notes
For use of this part only cut out with EcoRI and SpeI. XbaI site not present. Contains two PstI sites. Requires a promoter for use in E.coli. Part is flanked with in plasmid with EcoRI at 5??? end and SpeI at 3??? end.
