Description

It is composed by tetracycline repressor from Escherichia coli and the chromoshadow domain of nucleosomal histone binding protein, Swi6, from the fission yeast Schizosaccharoyces pombe. TetR is responsible of binding to tetR operator sites, heading engineering silencing proteins to regulatory sequences. CSD is a protein-protein interaction domain that contains a dimerization motif that creates a cleft, mediating transcription and epigenetic regulation in the nucleus, by heterochromatin formation.
