    Description

    Tar is a transmembrane receptor in E. coli which mediates chemotaxis towards aspartate.

    Notes

    The promoter of tar is replaced by lacI promoter and the RBS (Shine-Dalgarno sequence) is removed to reduce the expression level. As it turned out, lower level of expression ensured better chemotaxis.
