Description
The rhiABC operon is a necassary part of rhi quorum sensing system. Although the function of rhiABC is unknown, rhiA was shown to be highly expressed in the rhizosphere but not in bacteroids. Moreover, mutations in either rhiA or rhiR led to a decrease in the number of nodules. The promoter of rhiABC contains a cassete that can bind to AHL-rhiR complex and the binding can activate the expression of downstair genes like rhiA.
Notes
NO
Source
the promoter of rhiABC comes from the Rhizobium leguminosarum bv. vicae 1MA57.
