Description
The ACE1 transcription factor (also known as CUP2) is commonly found in S. cerevisiae (yeast). It is a transcriptional activator which becomes active (through allosteric activation) in the presence of either silver or copper. In other words, ACE1 can bind with either copper or silver ligands and become a transcriptional activator. ACE1 serves to activate transcription at the CUP1 Promoter (BBa_K586000).
Notes
The sequence is the same as that found in the S. cerevisiae genome.
