Description
We build this part to work as a receiver. C6HSL from the neighbor cell can diffuse across the membrane and activate the transcription from Plux promoter. We add RFP downstream of the promoter. This kind of RFP protein is easily detectable. The expression of it is very clear.
Compared with the previous design, this part is very convenient. If you need to detect AHL, you just add one drop to the medium. Even the very low concentration of AHL can make the medium turn red very obviously.
Notes
We want to easily detect the AHL
Source
Theere is something wrong with Part:BBa_J09855. So we modify the promoter and correct the sequence. Besides, we add RFP downstream of Plux promoter as a reporter.
